Preparing The Property Before The Shoot
Post-production editing can enhance some images, but a cluttered space will always be a cluttered space. Here are some suggestions to help you prepare for the photo shoot so Kit can really bring out the beauty of your property.
Quite often after the property had been used by guests, many objects are no longer where they are supposed to be, and strange objects have been added. Please ensure the following :
General Concerns
- All unnecessary items have been removed/hidden from view
- All objects are in their proper location
- Curtains/blinds are displayed properly
- All light bulbs are in working order
- Try to hide from view wires and cables (TVs, internet router, appliances, etc.)
- Clean glass doors and windows
Exteriors
- Clean swimming pool and surrounding area
- Mow lawn, trim hedges/shrubs, remove leaves
- Remove visible water hoses
- Clean outdoor porches, balconies, patios, outdoor furniture, including cushions
- Clean and turn on fountains/other decorative water features
- Remove trash bins
- Remove cars & motorbikes from driveway / garage / carport / front of the property
Kitchen & Dining Area
- Clean counters, stove top, all appliances
- Clean sink and try to polish sink hardware
- Clear, dust and polish glass top dining table
Living Room
- Remove stacks of brochures, magazines, etc.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
- Make beds, including any decorative pillows if available
- Clear counter tops completely – no toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion bottles, etc.
- Try to polish any hardware or shiny metal objects
- Clean mirrors, shower doors
- Remove all cleaning equipment/products
